Some possible infinities that may have been made by dishwashers

This work stemmed from the artist Robert Filliou who, on the 17th January 1963, declared that art had been born exactly 1,000,000 years ago when someone dropped a dry sponge into a pail of water. Ever since that day in 1963 people all over the world have been celebrating arts birthday.

This got me thinking about my job as a dishwasher, because it is said that it might have been a cleaner that dropt that dry sponge and Robert Filliou actually said it happend on this day.  Learning about the history of art like this changed for me the value of my work into a rich history of creation and the celabration of arts birthday.

‘Some possible infinities that may have been made by dishwashers’ was a long-term project that used “This day” as an infinit possibility. The project uses the work place and work of a dishwasher to give context and material for the creation of interactive art works. The photographies seen in the PDF were taken by my co-workers when the restaurant was quiet.
